Messe Frankfurt against Copying – our initiative for protecting your rights

Against copying.JPG

A trade fair offers great opportunities not only for acquisition of new clients, but also for demonstration of one's own products! However, at trade fairs your ideas may be detected by unfair competitors and it may happen that at the next trade fair similar goods will be offered for sale alongside with your own products.

The owner of a trademark has substantial means for protecting his trademarks against infringements. We would recommend you gathering the following information before you go to a trade fair: What was the country of your trademark's original registration? This is valid also for other commercial rights, which are eligible for registration, like patents, industrial models and design models.

When and for what types of goods was your trademark registered? This is valid also for other commercial rights, which are eligible for registration, like patents, industrial models and design models. For which countries was your trademark registered? With whom were the license agreements for the trademark signed? Who is/was the official distributor of your goods in Russia? (also valid for patents, industrial models and design models).

Please contact our partners to find out what to do if:
1) Someone is taking photos of your products;
2) Similar products under similar trademarks or your products are being advertised at a nearby stand;
3) Your trademark is used at another stand (for example, on labels, packaging, in products sale proposals, on signs, announcements, advertisements etc.).
